Obviously someone's in tune with Leno's pet hobby...

Jay Leno didn't expect to leave The Tonight Show without a parting gift, right?!

The Late Late Show's Craig Ferguson sent his fellow funnyman (network rivals apparently get along better than network-and-time-slot rivals) a token of his appreciation for Leno's long tenure—though really it was the card that made the gesture what it was.

Running with Leno's known passion for classic cars and everything automotive, Ferguson gave his pal a new ride. Well, not a new ride. It appears to be an old red Ford Bronco, possibly a 1969 model. But probably in mint condition, right?

"Dear Jay," began the handwritten note tucked under the windshield. "Please accept this P.O.S. The starter motor is f--ked & the electrics are crap. It'll keep you busy if you get bored. You will be missed! Don't be a stranger.

"Your friend...Craig Ferguson."

We're laughing over here—and choking up a bit! (Leno is hitting the road to do standup right after his NBC gig ends, so maybe he's found his mode of transport.)

Leno signs off Thursday for the real last time after 21 almost-consecutive years as host of The Tonight Show. Billy Crystal and Garth Brooks are the officially scheduled guests, but we're betting that a few other familiar faces may show up as well for the occasion.

Jimmy Fallon picks up as the sixth-ever host of The Tonight Show on Feb. 17.

Leno has been making the media rounds, meanwhile, insisting that he has no hard feelings about being told he was done while still at the top of his game.

"I'm not unhappy," he told the Los Angeles Times in a new interview. "This is a great franchise, and you like to keep it No. 1. I'm real proud we've been able to keep it No. 1. You know, there are people who like you and people who don't like you. 'You suck, you stink.' Whatever it is. But like baseball scores, like football scores, at the end here's the results. We've kept the show No. 1 for 20 years straight."
