Yes, Steve-O is still a Jackass.

Keeping his wild-man reputation intact, the MTV prankster went on a bender and made an ass of himself during a guest appearance on Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla Monday night.

In one of the more bizarre late-night-television moments in recent memory, Steve-O got soused backstage, then emerged to tape his segment, spewing obscenities like "bitch," spitting and attempting to tackle host Carolla to the ground.

"We wanted Steve-O to have a couple of drinks," the comedian told his studio audience, who were expecting to see a stunt from the onetime graduate of Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Clown College.

Instead, a thoroughly drunk Steve-O took a tumble, shattering the glass tabletop with his foot and slicing open his leg.

Carolla tried to salvage the segment by laughing off the antics, but by then it was too late. Instead of taking calls from viewers as would have been the norm on the funnyman's talk show, Steve-O was given the hook. Producers had the anxious-looking Carolla cut to a commercial while security escorted the performer off the set.

Video of the segment immediately began making the rounds on the Internet and was picked up by several blogs.

According to the New York Post, Steve-O, real name Stephen Glover, sent an email to producers the next day saying how much fun he had.

"I just woke up with no recollection of taping Adam's show. Wow. I can't help being more proud of myself," he wrote.

So much for apologies.

Reps for Glover could not be reached for comment. But this isn't the first time Steve-O's gross behavior has made headlines.

In May 2003, the entertainer was arrested in Sweden on drug possession and smuggling charges stemming from a joke he told before members of the local media about swallowing a condom full of ganja to circumvent the Scandinavian country's strict antidrug laws.

He eventually struck a plea deal with prosecutors, copping to two minor counts of possessing less than five grams of marijuana and Ecstasy in exchange for no jail time and paying a $5,800 fine.
