The 2014 Super Bowl wasn't just about Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos or Bruno Mars—it was about the commercials, too!

The big brands paid big bucks those coveted on-air spots, and while the Twitterverse found a way to drum up controversy surrounding a few (namely, Coca-Cola's all-inclusive "America the Beautiful" clip), most ads stuck to tried and true crowdpleasers—like puppies (and David Beckham, obviously).

Now, let's take a look at the very best ads from Super Bowl XLVIII!

Doritos' "Cowboy Kid": When you put together a mischevious little boy, an awesomely enormous dog and suburbia turned wild, wild west, you've got a winner!

Budweiser's "Puppy Love": There are few things cuter than a baby yellow lab, but when that dog strikes up an interspecies BFF who just happens to be a Budweiser Clydesdale horse? You've tugged on the right heart strings!

Audi's "Doberhuahua": Move aside, puggles, doodles, and whatever-you-are-a-poos, there's a new designer dog in town! Audi made a point with their odd Doberman-Chihuahua hybrid that making something new (like a car model) has to be done correctly (aka never from compromise). Cute, but mutts are often the best dogs!

T-Mobile's #NoContracts: Tim Tebow doesn't have an NFL contact tying him down, so he's free to do things like saving puppies from burning buildings! He also formulates plans for world peace and saving the whales! Your move, Tom Brady.

David Beckham for H&M: While no adorable animals were featured in Becks' bodywear collection spot, there were plenty of shirtless scenes and bum shots to make us squeal.

Radio Shack "The Phone Call": When push comes to shove, bring in Alf. Everybody loves Alf. And it seems like Radio Shack is serious about this #InWithTheNew campaign! They poked fun at their dated image and purposefully had it "stolen" by the likes of '80s icons like Hulk Hogan, Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton and Dee Snider.

Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt "The Spill": Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) got a comically timed visit from Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) and  Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier). It was a pretty great mini-reunion of the Full House stars, but imagine if Comet and an Olsen twin had been there, too. Have mercy!
