Sunday can't come soon enough. And no, it's not just because of the big game.
A portion of the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released on Thursday as a way of teasing the movie's full-blown trailer that is set to be shown during the Super Bowl.
And what a tease it is!
Full of non-stop action, the short preview shows the web slinger going head-to-head with villains Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti). Oh, and a few missiles as well.
"You wanted to be the hero, now you gotta pay the price," Electro can be heard in a voiceover.
Later, with destruction happening all around him, our hero tells his ladylove, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), "Nothing is what I thought it was," to which she replies, "This is bigger than you, Peter."
It ends with a graphic that reads, "See what happens next. Super Bowl Sunday." Like we said, Sunday can't come soon enough.
Directed by Marc Webber, the highly anticipated flick also stars Sally Field, Chris Cooper, Denis Leary, Dane DeHaan and Martin Sheen.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters on May 2, 2014.
