Eric will be making his first Super Bowl appearance with the Denver Broncos this Sunday, and of course his pregnant country-singer wife will be by his side as they take on the Seattle Seahawks at New Jersey's Met Life Stadium. (Well, she'll be watching all bundled up from the sidelines, of course.)
And in honor of the biggest game of the 26-year-old wide receiver's career to date, we've got some adorable Throwback Thursday pics featuring the Eric & Jessie: Game On star as a teenage football stud at his alma mater, Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minn.
Eric was a three-sport athlete growing up, playing football, baseball and basketball, but obviously it was football that had the biggest hold on the two-time Rocori MVP's heart.
He went on to attend the University of Minnesota and was drafted in the third round by the Broncos in 2010.
And while Eric was catching passes and racking up 2,156 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns in his prep school career, his future wife was cheering on her high school football team and then, a couple years later, was crowned homecoming queen at her new school in Georgia—only two months after transferring!
"me as a cheerleader in the 9th grade..2003! someone posted this on facebook...no hair extensions back in the day!" an excited Jessie tweeted back in August 2012.
Jessie shared some more teenage nostalgia last year—her homecoming pic, complete with tiara and sash!
"2007! I was 2 months new to this school and everyone was so sweet to me! I love Warner Robins high!!!!@jesssouthern see we r sisters! Our lives are too parallel."
And addition to her own memories, Jessie has been happy to proudly show off how cute her hubby was as a kid, too.
"My precious," she captioned one pic that obviously predated his high school yearbook photo by a few years.
