Teens Choose "The Notebook"

Big-screen love story sweeps the 2005 Teen Choice Awards with eight wins in all

Take note: The Notebook is what today's youngsters are looking for in a movie.

The gooey love story, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel by the same name, swept the Teen Choice Awards Sunday night, racking up eight surfboards in all.

Stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams took home Best Actor and Actress honors in the big-screen drama category and also captured prizes for Best Chemistry, Best Liplock and Best Love Scene for their passionate rain-drenched smooch. Gosling also won Best Male Breakout Performance.

The Notebook was further honored as Best Date flick and Best Drama.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Rob Schneider and Hilary Duff and will be broadcast Tuesday on Fox.

Napoleon Dynamite was another big winner, earning four awards in all, including Best Comedy, Best Female Breakout Performance for Haylie Duff, and Best Hissy Fit and Best Dance for star Jon Heder.

Punk'd purveyor Ashton Kutcher scored three surfboards, including Best Actor in a Television Comedy for That '70s Show, bringing his all-time Teen Choice haul to a record 11 awards.

The O.C.'s Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson won Best Actor and Actress in the television drama category, as well as Best Chemistry, while the show won Best Drama. Gilmore Girls was named Best Comedy and Alexis Bledel won Best Actress in a Comedy, while Lauren Graham won Best Parental Unit.

In the music category, Kelly Clarkson tripled up, winning Best Album for Breakaway, Best Female Artist and Best Single for "Since U Been Gone." Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Jesse McCartney and Mariah Carey all racked up two awards apiece.

Elsewhere, Paris Hilton took the award for Best Scream in House of Wax, while Jennifer Coolidge took the prize for Best Sleazebag in A Cinderella Story. Funnyman favorite Adam Sandler was named Best Comedian.
