Macklemore & Ryan Lewis certainly made this year's Grammys unforgettable.

Sure, they may have walked away with an impressive four awards, but what made music's biggest night all the more memorable was when 33 couples were married as the duo performed their hit song "Same Love."

"I got emotional during rehearsal and I got emotional during the performance," Macklemore says on Tuesday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "During the third verse, when I started rapping, that's when the procession of couples started coming in, and everyone stood up at that point and, you know, it just gives me goose bumps thinking about it now. To watch the Staples Center kind of erupt and stand up and participate in that ceremony. It was magic."

During the performance, none other than Madonna herself appeared on stage and began singing her song "Open Your Heart" as all the newlyweds embraced.

"Madonna was great," Ellen DeGeneres says. "She called me right afterward and she goes, 'Wasn't that so emotional?' and it was."

"Yeah, well, I've known Madonna for years now," joked Macklemore, before quickly admitting, "Not at all. Not at all. Still don't have her cell phone number...but she was so gracious to come and share the stage and she killed it."

Something tells us it shouldn't be too hard to get those digits now.
