The CNN host recently revealed in a column for The Daily Mail's Event magazine his interactions with the A-list couple at Penn's Help Haiti Home gala earlier this month.
"I walked over to Sean's table, where he was sitting with new girlfriend Charlize Theron," Morgan writes. He also shares that the South African native is "even more absurdly beautiful in real life than she seems on screen."
"'I'm so glad you two have got together,' I said, ‘Sean's a great guy,"' Morgan added of his exchange with the Oscar winning actress. "‘I know,' she smiled, putting her hand round his shoulder."
But Morgan wasn't done spilling the beans about the handsome pair.
"At 2 a.m., Sean came over, and bear-hugged me," Morgan shares. "'Congrats on a great night,' I said. 'And congrats on Charlize too.' He laughed. 'She's a keeper, that's for sure...well, I'll do my best to keep her anyway!'"
The gala marked Penn and Theron's first official public appearance together. Even though they opted to walk the red carpet separately, the duo was quite comfortable showing their affection for each other once they reunited inside the event.
The Prometheus star was spotted putting her arm around the Milk actor when he sat down beside her at a table in the middle of the ballroom. He then gave her a few kisses on her neck, and they shared a sweet kiss on the lips.
