The 2014 awards season officially kicks off now!
Hollywood's biggest names have gathered together tonight for the star-studded 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. But before the big awards show, the A-listers stopped to chat with Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, and, as always, they had some interesting things to say.
Like what, you ask? Oh, you know. Just stuff like this...
"He was really fast. I was really impressed. He's really funny."
—Zooey Deschanel on Prince guest starring on New Girl
"I have not the slightest clue. I'm dealing with Americans and then I'm dealing with the other side of the world, which is Ukraine. So we have to find some common ground in between."
—Hayden Panittere on when she's getting married to fiancé Wladimir Klitschko
"I basically felt that after all the years he's been doing movies and I never got a part, that I was like, ‘Maybe he doesn't know who I am.' So I introduced myself as 'an actor you may or may not have seen.' Gave him a Netflix subscription and said, ‘You might wanna watch my work'…And he wrote me back a very nice, very funny letter. And his first sentence was, ‘Thanks for the Netflix!'"
—Kevin Spacey on writing a letter to Woody Allen
"I feel like Jonah Hill would be a good selfie, or Jennifer Lawrence. They'd be really good ones...Historic."
—Sarah Hyland on who she'd want to take a selfie with at the Golden Globes
"I had admired her for years as an actress and she said, 'Come to this party,' and I went to this party and I went to get her a drink at the bar and I came back and she was sitting between Benecio Del Toro and Sean Penn. And I must have stood there for about 20 minutes with the drinks…and then I said, ‘It was really nice meeting you, I think I'm gonna leave now.' And she followed me and said, ‘Don't you want my digits?'"
—Liv Schreiber on his wife Naomi Watts making the first move when they met
"If I weren't here celebrating, I'd be in my pajamas, eating junk food, obsessively refreshing my Twitter. So, I feel like this is the better option. Instead I've been starving for days and haven't looked at my Twitter and that's probably healthier."
—Lena Dunham on Girls premiering tonight
"It's been a lot, but this is what I wanted and it's far more than I dreamed. But I'm so happy that it's worked out this way and I'm glad that it worked out with a film that I believe so much in and is so powerful."
—Lupita Nyong'o on the success of 12 Years a Slave
"You said to do it!"
—Elisabeth Moss to Giuliana after flipping off the Mani Cam
