TwitterChrissy Teigen made a valiant effort to read Fifty Shades of Grey, but she just thought it was "horrendous." So, the 28-year-old did the only logical—and humorous—thing: She buried her copy in the sand.
The model, who is enjoying some beach time in Mexico for the holidays, offered a play-by-play on her Twitter account on Friday, Dec. 27, while trying to start the erotic novel by E.L. James.
"I have purchased two riveting reads, neither more intense than the other," John Legend's witty wife captioned a twitpic of the romantic read as well as SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy SEAL Sniper.
Talk about opposites!
But alas, the brunette beauty selected Fifty Shades, as evidenced by this snapshot of her copy resting on the sand. Perhaps the book in the distance against the beautiful scenery, instead of on her lap, was not a good sign of things to come.
"Entire 1st page dedicated to hair brushing. 'Must not brush it wet' 'time for a ponytail' wow compelling stuff here #mysterysciencelibrary," she tweeted. "Yes. I am attempting to read this. For you," she wrote in a separate tweet.
After admitting that she feels like the dialogue "started as a mad libs" and that she was "still reading about hair," Teigen came out with the brutal truth.
"I have an extremely high pain tolerance. But I honestly don't think I can do this. This book is f--king horrendous," she joked.
In conclusion, she added the hysterical photo of her digging up some sand to bury her book, along with the caption "I tried."
Maybe the SEAL Team Six will be a better hit with Teigen.
