There's no doubt Julianne Moore knows a thing or two about stunning on and off the red carpet, but just how does she manage to pull off her flawless sense of style?

As the most recent cover girl of Net-a-Porter's online mag, The Edit, the star revealed a few of her style secrets, including the fact that she takes her age and ravishing red hair into consideration when picking out an outfit.

"After a certain age, you can't wear anything with words on it," shared the 53-year-old. "Also, I don't wear a lot of color because, having red hair, I carry a lot of color with me."

And, of course, Moore has one designer in particular that she finds herself turning to again and again: Tom Ford.

Ford has not only referred to the actress as a muse, but he also cast her in a leading role in his 2009 film, A Single Man.

"I don't know that I'm his muse," she jokingly noted. "I'm definitely a friend. He's not mysterious about fashion, which I love…He's just a great, wonderfully creative and soulful person, and a really good friend."

As for her off-duty hours, Moore likes to reach for an Isabel Marant jacket and boots and finish off  her laid back look with J Brand jeans. It's a casual look that has served her well—and one that still gets her husband's attention.

After getting ready to head out of their Montauk home last summer, Moore's hubby couldn't help but take note of the actress's style.

"I'd been wearing pajamas, and changed into my Isabel Marant jacket, a hat and sunglasses, and he was like, ‘Whoa! What the hell happened?'"

"I look good," she said.

We couldn't agree more!
