There's no denying that Katy Perry and John Mayer's music video for "Who You Love" can be compared to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's "Bound 2." After all, the romantic clips feature A-list couples madly in love, riding a mechanical bull against a desert backdrop and a motorcycle in a whimsical fairytale-like field, respectively.

Perry and Mayer sat down for an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an appearance scheduled to air on Friday, Dec. 20 and not surprisingly, their new video was the main topic of conversation.

"Was it your response to Kim and Kanye's "Bound 2?" Ellen DeGeneres asked the adorable duo.

"I thought our response was a little bit more authentic because my hair was blowing in the right direction, though," the "Roar" singer said with a laugh.

The music video for "Who You Love" features pairs in love, including Perry and Mayer, trying not to get thrown from a mechanical bull. The party favorite machine seems to be placed in the middle of the desert.

"They're on the bull for two seconds but we shot in such slow motion that you get about a minute of footage," the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" crooner said.

"That was the first time we had done it sober," Mayer admitted. "That was the first sober bull ride."

And of course, there are close-ups of the pair singing to each other and cuddling.

Before the 36-year-old joined his ladylove on stage, Perry admitted to the comedienne that she and Mayer have "a lot of fun" together.

"You know, we have music as an understanding and love between each other and we connect and you know its like he understands what I do because he does the same thing," the Prism artist explained. "And so after a long day if it's been tough I don't really have to go into it he just gets it. You know, so it's nice with that understanding."

Mayer and Perry also confirmed that they will spend the holidays together.

"The present is all set," Mayer told the two ladies.
