Three finalists. Three performances. One night to remember.

The X Factor's final three contestants Alex and Sierra, Jeff Gutt and Carlito Olivero took the stage for the final performance show of the season in their last attempt to win the Fox reality series' third season on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

"I think tonight is going to be one of the closest finals we've ever had," judge and executive producer Simon Cowell said before three acts performed, and the talented finalists proved the British judge's prediction to be true as they delivered nine entertaining performances.

After watching the big two-hour show, we picked each performer's best routine...

Alex and Sierra (Team Simon Cowell)

While the adorable couple started off super strong with a soulful rendition of Ed Sheeran's "Give Me Love," they faltered a bit during their duet with Leona Lewis on "Bleeding Love." It seems like three voices was one voice too many on the former X Factor UK winner's hit song. Luckily, they closed the night on a high note with yet another chill-worthy performance of "Say Something," which may have topped their original rendition of the song (and earned them a standing ovation from the judges). The frontrunners going into the night, it seems like that last performance may have sealed the deal for the duo.

Carlito Olivero (Team Paulina Rubio)

Though his duet wih Latin pop star Prince Royce was solid (if a bit too bland for our liking) and his closing performance of "Maria, Maria" was energetic and fun, it was his first performance of "Impossible" that really stuck with us. It was one of the first times we really could see Olivero winning the competition as he showcased a previously missing charisma. But is it too little too late for the young singer?

Jeff Gutt (Team Kelly Rowland)

The rocker easily had the strongest night, thanks to his sensational rendition of "Dream On" and stellar duet with John Rzeznik on "Iris," and his closing performance of "Creep" kept Gutt's streak of excellence going. But if we had to choose his best? "Dream On," which proved that Gutt was (and we're so sorry to borrow a phrase from American Idol's dawg Randy Jackson) in it to win it. If anyone can stop Alex and Sierra from running away with the season three crown, it's Gutt.

The X Factor's finale airs Thursday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
