Could Miley come in like a wrecking ball and save The X Factor? Simon Cowell wants Miley Cyrus for The X Factor…should the show even come back for a fourth season.

The reality show mogul told Mashable he'd love to have the singer on board The X Factor as a judge.

Cowell said his dream X Factor panel would include his old American Idol cohorts Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul, and someone who "would be really fun to watch."

"I recently met Miley Cyrus, and I really liked her," Cowell said. "She has an opinion for sure."

Let's take a minute and imagine Cowell, Adbul, Jackson and Cyrus all at a judges table. That'd be quite a sight!

Abdul previously served as a judge on The X Factor with Cowell, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger. Following the first season, Abdul and Scherzinger left the show and were replaced with Demi Lovato and Britney Spears.

After season two of The X Factor, Spears and Reid left the show and Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio joined Lovato and Cowell.

Now reports are out that Lovato will jump ship from The X Factor to focus on her singing…should the show even return for season four.  Fox has yet to officially make any decision regarding the fate of The X Factor after its finale on Thursday, Dec. 19.

If the show does comeback, Cowell has said it will look different. Instead of a two-night-a-week format, it may transition to just one night, similar to what ABC did with Dancing With the Stars. Cowell also told the press he might have a different role if the show comes back.

Cowell recently tweeted about The X Factor finale, saying he had a nightmare Alex and Sierra didn't win the competition. "And on that note coming from rehearsals this is shaping up to be a great final. There are three or four performances which are magic," he wrote.

The X Factor final airs Thursday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
