"I've talked to her a few times since The Hills," Montag revealed when she and husband Spencer Pratt stopped by my office today to promote After Shock: Heidi & Spencer, their new E! special airing Monday, Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. "She's been very sweet."
Really?!
What on earth did they talk about?
"Just catching up and saying hi and things like that," Montag said.
As fans of their MTV reality show know, the end of their friendship and ongoing feud became a central part of the series.
Conrad's final appearance on the show happened in 2009 when she attended, after much deliberation, Montag and Pratt's wedding.
"I do really appreciate everything that she's done for me and I'll always have such great memories about her and, you know, without her I wouldn't have any of the world that I have today or my husband," Montag said. "It's unfortunate things happened the way that it did, but we're both different people now, older and more mature."
Montag and Pratt are no longer pining for their Hills days.
"In general, besides the finances, not much," Montag said when asked what they miss about the show.
"I miss always going to a restaurant and ordering up as much as I want and [MTV is] paying for it," Pratt said. "They wouldn't pay for liquor because it was a legal issue. I would try to order a bottle of expensive wine but then I would get billed later and it was like, 'Damn, I didn't get it!' The free meals were a lot of fun because I like to eat a lot."
