Jesse Tyler Ferguson has some advice for newly married couples.

"I don't recommend opening a pop-up shop four months into being married," the Modern Family star told me at last night's launch of his and husband Justin Mikita's Tie the Knot pop-up shop in L.A.'s Beverly Center.

"This is all Justin," Ferguson said. "I have to give this all to him. We just got married so to put this type of stress on a four-month marriage? It was very risky."

Don't worry, the two are happier than ever.

They'll spend Christmas at home. "We just moved into a new house, so we're going to enjoy that," Ferguson said.

There will be no presents between the two. "After getting married, we decided we're not getting each other gifts," Ferguson said. "It's pricey to get married, y'all!"

And then it's off to Anguilla to ring in the New Year with friends.

The Beverly Center approached them about opening the pop-up. Proceeds from the Tie the Knot collection benefit organizations fighting for marriage equality.

"[They] said, 'We love Tie the Knot. We love marriage equality. We love what you're doing. We'd love to donate a space for you this holiday season at the Beverly Center,'" Ferguson said. "So we jumped at that and this is the product of all that work."

The store includes bow ties designed by George Takei, former NFL players Scott Fujita and WNBA star Brittney Griner.

Not in L.A. in time to shop? No problem because the entire collection is sold exclusively online at thetiebar.com.
