FacebookPaul Walker's dad is speaking out following his son's tragic death over Thanksgiving weekend.
The grief-stricken father opened up to E! News about the sudden loss of his 40-year-old son, who died in a fiery car crash on Saturday, Nov. 30 in Santa Clarita, Calif. while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.
"He had a way when he talked to me that conveyed that he loved me a great deal," Paul Walker Sr. shared. "I don't ever remember having an argument with my son. He was kind, he was really a kind person. And he wanted people to get along with each other."
Walker Sr. remembers the Fast and Furious star for his compassion as well as his desire to treat all others equally despite his movie star status.
"I keep hearing that Paul would say to one of the castmembers on the film that they were doing now, Paul said to them, ‘Look you're not here, you're not there, you're not there, we're all here, everybody in the cast, we're all equal,'" he said, gesturing with his hands.
As for how the family's coping?
"Really tough," he admitted. "My two sons, stayed here. The daughters are at my wife's house. It's hard."
And despite Walker Sr.'s best attempts to stay strong, he admits he has moments where he's overcome with sadness.
"Every now and then I'll really break down. Talking really seems to help…there's just such a tremendous amount of stories," he shared. "I was just told that my son gave a marine a diamond ring to give to a gal he was going to marry. I never heard that story. He did stuff like that all the time," he added with pride in his voice.
Walker's father also shared how the late actor's 15-year-old daughter Meadow is coping following her dad's sudden death.
"Meadow's taking it really tough but there again she has family around her and some very very loving friends and everybody they're all close. There's a lot of hugging. A lot of hand-holding. Wonderful people coming telling us how sorry they are."
And, despite Walker's tragic passing, his memory will live on in the hearts of fans, family and friends forever.
"Visualize Paul standing on the beach with a surfboard in his arm, looking out to the ocean," Walker Sr. said. "I think he would like that image of himself. It's very very deep in his soul."
