It's just one big happy family!

After revealing in a New York Times essay that she has a serious girlfriend, actress Maria Bello wasted no time in showing off her special family to the world.

In an intimate photo posted on Twitter, Bello smiles with her girlfriend Clare Munn, her son Jackson and his father Dan McDermott.

"Giving thanks for my modern family. Happy thanksgiving for whatever kind of family you have. @nytimes," the Prime Suspect star tweeted.

The photo comes after the 46-year-old wrote an open and honest essay about her closest relationships just in time for the festive holiday.

In the piece, Bello recalls memories of the first time she told her 12-year-old son about her girlfriend.

"I had become involved with a woman who was my best friend, and, as it happens, a person who is like a godmother to my son," she wrote. Turns out the tween handled the news with maturity and wisdom.

"‘Mom, love is love whatever you are,'" the actress recalls hearing from her only child. Today, Bello can't help but echo her son's sentiments.

"Whomever I love, however I love them, whether they sleep in my bed or not, or whether I do homework with them or share a child with them, 'love is love.'"
