Taylor Hill/FilmMagicIt looks like Katie Couric is ready to move on from ABC.
The famed journalist, who locked in a deal with the network three years ago for her daytime talk show, Katie, and a role at ABC News, has already signed a new deal with Yahoo, E! News has confirmed.
No details have been released just yet on what the former Today star will be doing with the company, but a source tells E! News that will be announced as early as Monday.
As for the fate of her syndicated show, it's not a definite just yet that her daytime stint is over.
Albeit its low ratings, the show could still press on, considering the syndicated show deal was separate from her deal with ABC News.
Although the network declined to comment on the Yahoo buzz, an executive at ABC reportedly told the Hollywood Reporter, "Katie is an incredible journalist and this was an opportunity that she couldn't pass up. Thanks to the powerful association between ABC News and Yahoo we know that Katie will continue to work closely with us and welcome her on our air anytime."
This isn't the first time Katie's career moves have been the subject of speculation, though.
Rumors flew earlier this year that Couric was gearing up for a move from ABC to CNN, which she shot down this summer.
"No, no, no. Honestly, slow news day?" Couric said when asked about the rumor at Marie Claire's Women Taking the Lead event at the time. "I'm very busy doing my show and having a lot of fun doing it. The whole world is about gossip and rumors and speculation, but I'm very, very focused on doing the best show I can do every single day."
Then in September, she was said to be replacing Barbara Walters on the View, a rumor Couric told E! News was "completely false."
A move to Yahoo was clearly another story.
"She wants to do more substantial news and realizes she can't on Katie," a source told E! News. "It's a different audience."
Although Couric has yet to comment on the supposed Yahoo deal, it would certainly mean a fresh start when her new venture with the Internet giant kicks off.
A source tells E! News her Yahoo programming will probably launch early next year.
