The X Factor creator and the New York City socialite are expecting their firstborn son this winter, and E! News has exclusively learned that they'll be hosting a baby shower in L.A. in early December.
The couple will then travel to Barbados for some much-needed R&R. Cowell and Silverman will then return to the Big Apple, where the mom-to-be plans to give birth.
Earlier this month, the music mogul told E! News that he and Silverman have agreed on a baby name. "I'm not going to say what it is yet, but I'm happy," Cowell teased. Whether the moniker will have any family ties remains to be seen. "You'll have to wait and see!" he said.
In the meantime, Cowell will be staying busy as he continues to mentor the groups on The X Factor. While the pop trio Sweet Suspense was eliminated in the Thursday, Nov. 14, episode, he still has two acts left in the competition: Restless Road and Alex & Sierra.
"Tomorrow is X factor USA. The theme is British Invasion," Cowell tweeted on Tuesday, Nov. 19. "This is going to be a great show. Two contestants will leave this week. Gulp." The winner of season three will win a recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.
One Direction—the U.K. boy band Cowell assembled in 2010—will perform on the Nov. 21 episode.
