Watch: Will Ferrell Dishes on "Anchorman" Sequel

Will Ferrell will soon be reprising his role as the always-hysterical Ron Burgundy in the comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which hits theaters on Dec. 20.

E!'s News caught up with the funnyman at the GQ Men of the Year Party on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Los Angeles. When asked about the highly anticipated comedy, Ferrell revealed that he was worried that the sequel might not measure up to the first film.

"The first one for us is literally the most fun we've ever had working on a movie," the 46-year-old actor told Ali Fedotowsky. "So, to get everyone back together again, I wondered if it was going to be as much fun, cause you kind of never, you can never go back in a way."

Turns out, his anxiety was totally unfounded and his return as the mustached San Diego newsman was just as sweet the second time around.

"We just picked up where we left off and had the best time," Ferrell said.

Ferrell, who is featured on one of the GQ cover shots, shared his thoughts about another actor gracing a different cover: James Gandolfini.

"He is one of the iconic American actors of our time," Ferrell said of the Sopranos star. "I got to meet him once at the Tony's a couple of years ago and he was the exact opposite of his TV persona. He was so sweet and I was like, 'Hey, I don't want to bug you, but I'm a fan.' And he's like, 'I'm a fan too.'"
