You might see Kate Hudson wearing high-end designers on the red carpet or, most recently, on the December-January issue of Harper's Bazaar, but she says she doesn't splurge on couture gowns in real life.

"People think we own all these dresses," she says inside the magazine. "But we borrow them! I can't afford to buy that stuff. There are certain things I splurge on, but it's very rare, especially when you have two kids and school tuition. I'm not a big high-end fashion shopper. I wish I could but the truth is things are just so expensive. Before Isabel Marant was a million dollars and famous, I used to go to her store in Paris and go crazy, it was so affordable."

And even though Marant is launching a budget-friendly line with H&M (available this Thursday, Nov. 14), it's not likely that the actress will go out and score the whole collection—she says she was raised more responsibly.

"My mom wasn't a big shopper for us," she shares. "I think they wanted to instill that in us even though we grew up in a really privileged and lucky lifestyle."

A good upbringing probably contributed to the star's constant state of happiness. "I loving becoming an adult," she gushes. Another reason for her current state of bliss? Finding true love in fiancé Matthew Bellamy.

The pair welcomed son Bingham two years ago, and Kate says keeping up with a toddler means having lots of stamina, which she credits to daily exercise.

"It really is a vital part of my day in terms of energy. And I mean just by putting a sports bra on." She jokes. "Then maybe you'll do something! Even if it's a few squats in the backyard and back to the couch."

We're pretty sure the star is doing a little more than just a few squats, given that her body looks this amazing in a skimpy Gucci dress.
