Island RecordsMariah Carey has released a soulful new song.
The 43-year-old singer announced her ballad "The Art of Letting Go" this morning.
"I'm making a statement of my own opinion/just a brief little reminder to help myself remember/ I no longer live in your dominion," Carey sings before belting out in the song's chorus, "Letting go ain't easy/it's just exceedingly hurtful/because somebody you used to know is flinging your world around/and they watch as you're falling down, down, down, down."
In the super sexy cover art for the song, Carey shows off her curves while posing in a skin-baring one-piece swimsuit in front of a sunset.
Carey shared a special message with fans on her Facebook page this morning along with a link to buy her new jam.
"For the first time ever, here it is... ‘The Art of Letting Go'!!!" she wrote. "This is such a personal record to me. I wrote the lyrics so that anyone and everyone could relate to them and hopefully release anything that they need to let go of that's holding them back or bringing them down.
