Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr's split seems to be extremely amicable, according to the actor himself.

During an interview with Rita Braver for CBS' Sunday Morning, he explained that their respective careers may have been to blame for the breakup.

"You know, when you have two people who are incredibly busy and who are both very visible in the world, I think it can be challenging to keep that, that schedule and that kind of life in the same track, you know?"

The actor, who is now starring the Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet, opened up about how hard it's been to end his marriage to the Victoria's Secret beauty.

"It's very challenging," he shared. "You know, I love Miranda and she loves me. We both adore and love our son. We both recognize and realize that we're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives, raising our son."

E! News exclusively revealed that the couple had decided to part ways after three years of marriage.

"In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," the rep said. "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."

The statement continued, "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."

Bloom echoed his sentiments on the split while stopping by Katie Couric's talk show earlier this month.

"Life doesn't always works out exactly as we plan or hope for but fortunately we're both...we're adults," he explained. "We love and care about each other and we, most of all, love our son."
