A new extended movie trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is here!

In the clip, Luke Evans makes his Hobbit debut playing Bard the Bowman while vets like Martin Freeman and Ian McKellen reunite once again. Lord of the Rings vet Orlando Bloom and newbie Evangeline Lilly add a little Elvish romance to the mix.

In addition to the new extended trailer, Ed Sheeran announced recently that he recorded a new song titled "I See Fire" for the film. The Brit singer announced the track on Twitter, writing, "I got the chance to produce and play all the instruments on it apart from the cello. Managed to learn violin for a day, hope you all dig it."

"Big up Peter Jackson and his team for giving me the opportunity," he also wrote, adding, "It's also the first solo song I've released in over 2 years, it's not on the new album though, that fun starts next year."

Sheeran also released a behind-the-scenes music video for the song.

In other Hobbit-related news, McKellan recently poked fun at his Gandalf character by stripping down to only white underwear during the recent Only Make Believe on Broadway charity gala! During the show, the 74-year-old actor took the stage in a jogger costume before shedding his clothes to show off tighty whities with his character's image on the butt above his famous Hobbit phrase, "You Shall Not Pass."

LOL!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters Dec. 13.
