Stephen Amell Opens Up About 3-Week-Old Daughter Mavi, Jokes Fatherhood Is "Easy" on Chelsea Lately

Arrow actor also tells Chelsea Handler about the gay characters he played on Dante's Cove and Hung

It's only been three weeks since Stephen Amell's wife Cassandra Jean gave birth to daughter Mavi, but the first-time father is quite confident in his childrearing abilities. "It's awesome," the 32-year-old Arrow star said on the Tuesday, Nov. 5, episode of E!'s Chelsea Lately. "What do you say? You just take them home, make sure they're fed, sleep, changed, that's it."

Amell jokingly added, "This parenting stuff is easy."

Host Chelsea Handler then asked the Canadian actor to clarify his heterosexuality, given that he's played many gay characters over the years. "I want people to know not to hit on you if they're men," the comedienne explained.

"People can hit on me if they want to," Amell cooly replied.

"That's nice," Handler said before asking Amell about his role on Dante's Cove. "That was an all-gay soap opera where I was the villain because I was the straight character," the actor recalled. "I couldn't do the second season, and in the second season, my character went from not gay to really, really, really gay."

Amell also played a spin instructor on Hung, which was ironic, giving that he taught lessons in real life at the time. "Still straight, though, back then," he joked. "It was my first acting job and I remember telling my agent—I had been doing it maybe four months, and at the time I thought maybe being a spin instructor some intrinsic value to it. And it doesn't at all—I remember telling him, ‘If I don't get this job, I'm going to quit.' And i got it, so…"
