"Do you think that would that be good deep fried?" one E! writer asked today at lunch. "Yes," another responded. "Because everything is good deep fried." (We later conceded that deep-fried butter is still kind of gross.)

And like magic, the deep-fried Twinkie burger came into our lives.

This sweet, sweet monstrosity is available at the Philadelphia restaurant PYT, who introduced it on their Facebook today with a post that said, "We are really sorry about this, but someone had to do it."

The recipe: Four (4) deep-fried Twinkies, battered in funnel cake, used to make the two buns. One (1) custom-blended pork belly patty. American cheese. At least two (2) pieces of bacon.

Post by PYT.

"Flavor appeal comes from the combination of savory and sweet," Kevin McGehrin, PYT's bar manager, explained (via ABC). "Sweetness comes from the Twinkie, of course. And by using the pork belly in the blend, it really amps up the savory aspect of the patty."

He continued, "The applewood bacon gives it a bit of a smoky component. The bun texture is a crunchy exterior with a soft warm fluffy cake-like center." One adventurous diner described the burger by saying, "It tasted like magic in my mouth."

The deep-fried Twinkie burger costs $12 and is only available this week, as PYT's "Burger of the Week" (past "Burgers of the Week" included the deep-fried lasagna burger and the bacon taco burger).

If you're the type of person who worries about counting calories, manager Malcolm Kenyatta says, "At PYT, we don't want to have those conversations. This is an escape." That said, it's a deep-fried Twinkie burger. So you probably have a good idea.
