Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise got up close and personal with some wild animals—and no, we don't mean the paparazzi!
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the adorable mother-daughter duo went on a safari adventure at the Aquila Game Reserve in Cape Town, South Africa. Katie dressed sensibly for the outing—pairing a cozy green sweater with jeans and boots—and happily carried Suri's beloved giraffe plush toy. Her 7-year-old mini-me opted for smart footwear like mom's—pairing a pink, girly ensemble with some sensible, closed-toe (albeit sparkly!) flats.
Katie, 34, is currently in South Africa for her role in The Giver, the film adaptation of Lois Lowry's 1993 dystopian young adult novel. Filming began this past weekend, and on Sunday, Oct. 20, Katie grabbed a post-work dinner with costars Taylor Swift and Alexander Skarsgård.
Tom Cruise's ex, whose specific role in the film has not yet been revealed, is really looking forward to getting to know all of her fellow actors on this exciting project, who include Taylor and Alexander as well as Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. She told E! News in September she was "so excited" about bringing the beloved novel to the big screen.
That's a lot of big names, but Katie (and Suri!) are used to hanging with an A-list crew.
