Halloween is just around the corner, which means you're likely gearing up for celebrating the spookiest night of the year!

Between baking up sweet treats, planning weekend festivities or putting the finishing touches on costumes, there's plenty of preparation that goes into the ensuring Oct. 31 is an unforgettable night of fright and fun for all.

Feeling overwhelmed by your impending to-do list?

We tapped Tori Spelling, who has partnered with Starburst Candy Corn this year, for expert tips on entertaining guests and celebrating Halloween in style.

Here's what she shared with us:

1. Let the Little Ones Choose Their Own Costumes. "I have a million ideas for my kids every year, but at the end of the day, it's important to let them be creative and feel excited about their outfit," she advises. She also loves to spoil her kiddos with sweet treats like rice krispy treats. For a special touch, she uses assorted Halloween-themed cookie cutters to create festive shapes and decorates each one with Starburst Candy Corn along the edges.

Yum!

2. Start Planning Early. "Because your little ones are making the costume decisions, begin gathering supplies sooner than later to avoid last-minute costume conundrums," she tells us. The same holds true for planning your event if you're hosting friends this year. "Think about how your décor, color schemes and food and beverage options will complement each other."

3. Put People First. "The biggest mistake a Halloween host can make is forgetting that the party is about being with loved ones. No matter how much décor is on the walls or food on the tables, the focus should always be on enjoying time with your guests!" she says with a smile.

Great advice!
