No, this wasn't a Halloween-themed movie—for Tom Hanks, it really happened!

Turning up for a special retrospective of his career on Oct. 19 in London hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), the two-time Oscar winner revealed he once went trick-or-treating with Sean Penn and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

No kidding!

During the interview for BAFTAs "A Life in Pictures" series, Hanks recounted the time how, in the mid-'90s, he and his fellow celebs were in Washington, D.C., at the same time with their families and decided to hit up a neighborhood together for a good ol' fashion candy grab in the spirit of All Hallow's Eve.

"We were in Washington, D.C., on Halloween," the 57-year-old actor recalled for attendees according to the BAFTA transcript. "And it just so happened Arnold Schwarzenegger was in town doing True Lies…So me and my kids, Sean and [Hanks' Forrest Gump costar] Robin [Wright] and Arnold and his kids went out trick-or-treating together, in Georgetown."

As it happened, the trio had quite the adventure.

"If anyone was to come out of their house to see who's on the sidewalk, they're going to win the celebrity lottery here," quipped the Captain Phillips star. "Arnold was saying to us [Hanks doing his best Schwarzenegger voice], "Come on, hurry up, you snooze you lose, get up there with your candy."

Hanks didn't reveal whether he, Sean and Ah-nuld wore costumes during the outing. But we can just imagine the looks of shock on whoever might have run across them.

Happy Halloween, indeed!
