¡Ay dios mio! TV's highest-paid actress Sofía Vergara had a minor freak out when she popped by E!'s Chelsea Lately on Wednesday, Oct. 9. While discussing her 15-month engagement to Nick Loeb, host Chelsea Handler asked to see the Modern Family star's ring. "You forgot it?" the comedienne asked.
"Oh my god, everybody's fired! My assistant, my publicist! They let me out with no jewelry!" Vergara shouted. "I have never done this! Do I have underwear on?"
After verifying that she did indeed remember to put on some panties, the 41-year-old actress said, "I have never done anything without jewelry. I feel naked!"
During the interview, Handler asked Vergara why she's yet to set a date. "I was thinking the other day that Americans take engagements like, ‘Okay, we're engaged. It means let's plan weddings.' But for a couple of Latin Americans, you get engaged, but it's like another stage in your love life. It doesn't mean, ‘Okay, let's immediately call the flower place.' It's like another period."
Wedding talk aside, Vergara also laughed about how her youthful and sexy appearance regularly embarrasses her 22-year-old son, Manolo. "Sometimes, like in New York, we're selling stuff and the guy's like, ‘Come! Get this for your girlfriend!' And I'm super [into it[, and then he starts like, ‘Mom! Mom!' He hates it," she shared. "I love it."
To make him feel better, "I only date guys that are at least 10 years older than him," Vergara joked.
