Breaking Bad

It's no surprise that Breaking Bad has been the buzz of the Internet since yesterday's anticipated (but still bittersweet) series finale.

But even though it seemed like everyone—including celebs and the show's stars—were sharing their thoughts on Walter White's sendoff through social media, the AMC drama did not become the most-tweeted about TV show of all time.

Yep, Vince Giligan's masterpiece may break bad, but it did not break the Internet.

So which show was even more buzzworthy and remains in the top spot?

That would be the popular ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars.

On Twitter, the Breaking Bad finale brought together 1.24 million tweets for the East Coast and West Coast airings, as well as the three-hour periods before and after those respective broadcasts, according to data obtained by Mashable.

Pretty Little Liars, which currently holds the title of Most Tweeted Show Ever, generated 1.9 million tweets during last season's finale.

However, neither show came close to the groundbreaking numbers garnered by two other television broadcasts.

The NFL season opener sparked 20 million interactions from 8 million people. Nine million people talked about MTV's Video Music Awards, generating 26 million Facebook interactions largely spawned from Miley Cyrus' raunchy performance (her duet with Robin Thicke got 306,000 tweets per minute!).

Walter White should've twerked.
