Alanis Morissette, Mario Souleye Treadway

If there's one thing Alanis Morissette oughta know, it's where to find a good attorney.

The "You Oughta Know" singer is being sued by an ex-nanny who claims Morissette held her prisoner while she cared for her newborn.

According to the lawsuit filed Thursday, Sept. 26, and obtained by TMZ, the plaintiff, Bianca Cambeiro, says she worked for the 39-year-old Grammy winner from August 2011 to March 2013.

Bianca alleges Morissette and her rapper husband Mario Treadway locked her in their son Ever's bedroom as he slept for the duration of her 12-hour shift and refused to let her leave under any circumstance.

The complaint states that Cambeiro wasn't given any breaks and not so much as a meal. The only time she was allowed relief, she asserts, was when one of the parents was in the bedroom or if the day-shift nanny arrived to take over.

Cambeiro is seeking more than $30,000 in unpaid overtime and other wages, along with $100,000 for the emotional distress she says she suffered.

A rep for the Canadian crooner was unavailable for comment.

Just yesterday Morissette opened up to Today about the "beyond pain" she endured during Ever's home birth, which occurred without the aid of a doctor or medicines, but rather with the aissistance of a midwife and a doula.
