Jennifer Love Hewitt is due in December, and the pregnant actress says she can't wait to meet her firstborn. And according to the Texas native, she's been preparing for that moment her entire life. "I've always wanted to be a mom," the Client List star tells People. "I had a great relationship with mine. I'm ready to pass on to my child all the great love that my mom had for me."

The mom-to-be lost her mother, Patricia, to cancer in June 2012. "Obviously, I got very lucky that even though I lost my mother, I lost her later in life, but it's still had a profound effect on me," Hewitt says.

Hewitt, 34, has been hitting the gym five or six times a week. "It's making me feel good," Brian Hallisay's fiancé says of staying active while pregnant. "I've been reading all these interesting stats about kids with pregnant moms who work out have all these great benefits, so I'm happy about that."

Instead of fretting over her new curves, the TV star has learned to love them. "I've been under scrutiny for 24 years of my life, so it's been interesting to see how, when you really embrace what it's about, it's okay," says the actress, who's been bullied for her weight in the past. "You just go with it, and it's great."

During an August interview with E! News, Hewitt said she was still getting used to the other aspects of being pregnant. "You feel a lot of things hormonally," she said. "There are surges, there are aches, there are pains, there's swelling—there's all of that stuff. But it's all really beautiful because it's for a purpose. It's something you either embrace or you don't embrace and I've embraced it."
