Once upon a time, not too long ago, Kate Middleton and Prince William decided to have a little fun.

Picture this: Two weeks before announcing their engagement (in the summer of 2010), the royal couple reportedly dressed up in '70s gear with huge afro wigs to go out and watch Toy Story 3 at the Empire picture house in Holyhead.

Why, you ask? Well, why not?

"They turned up in fancy dress and wore big afro wigs. Prince William's was purple if I remember rightly," Jean Owen, manager of the cinema, told The Daily Mail.

"No one knew they were coming until they turned up, and they said they were wearing the wigs for charity."

OK, so there was a reason (and a good one, of course), but had they dressed up strictly for the fun of it, that would've been pretty cool, too.

Another staff member added, "Although they were trying to be incognito, people recognized them instantly—but no one would have dreamed of taking a photograph. That's just not the way things are done on Anglesey."

And that's probably why Wills had nothing but sweet things to say about Anglesey, as he and his wife prepare to leave the island after more than three years of residing there to start the next chapter of their life in London.

"This island has been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for us both," Will said. "Catherine and I look forward to returning again and again over the coming years with our family."

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my wife and me so welcome when we arrived here," he continued. "I know that I speak for Catherine when I say that I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey."
