The 25-year-old hunk resurfaced today in Peru for the first time since E! News exclusively reported that the former High School Musical star completed a stint in a treatment facility about five months ago.
Efron was all smiles as he posed with fans, looking happy and healthy in South America, where he recently embarked on a backpacking trip to Machu Pichu with his father.
The erstwhile Disney star caused a stir in the town of Cuzco, as admirers fawned over Efron's flawless appearance, while the Hollywood hottie was sporting a basic button down shirt and jeans.
"He's healthy, happy and not drinking," a source told E! News on Tuesday after the rehab revelation. "He's taking time to focus on working."
The source's sentiments echo the comments made by Efron's That Awkward Moment costar Jessica Lucas at People Style Watch's "Hollywood Denim Party" presented by Gilt.com at the Palihouse in West Hollywood last night.
"He's great," the 27-year-old beauty gushed to E! News on the carpet when asked what it was like working with Zac. "He's really nice, very charismatic, really down-to-earth, cool guy."
The upcoming comedy, which also stars Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, centers around a group of young guys who vow to stay single. The raunchy flick is slated to hit theaters in January, and Jessica insists the "ladies will be very satisfied."
And lucky for Lucas, the actress got to see her studly costars strut around shirtless on set (swoon!).
"Yeah, I mean the guys are naked a lot in it," she admits with a laugh. "The movie has a lot of sex in it."
So was there any friendly competition between the beefed-up boys?
"I can't throw them under the bus like that, but there may have been some competition going on," she confessed with a laugh. "Who has bigger pecs, that kind of thing."
