Sara Bareilles is brave enough to roar with—not against—Katy Perry.

After fans were up in arms claiming the 28-year-old pop star ripped off the melody from Bareilles' tune, "Brave" for her hit single "Roar," the "Love Song" singer has cleared the air, insisting there's no beef between the two chart-topping artists.

"I was stoked. I was like, 'Great,'" the 33-year-old beauty said in a recent interview, referring to the excessive internet chatter insisting Perry stole Sara's song. "I was like, `You guys want to go get (mad) about something and buy my music, that's great.'"

Perry's tune is currently at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while Bareilles' ballad peaked at No. 31 after the comparisons started rolling in. A popular Tumblr blog, Pop Culture Brain, even layered "Roar" over "Brave" to highlight the similarities between the songs.

For the record, "Brave" hit airwaves in April, while "Roar" was released in August.

"I don't feel like anything was taken from me artistically," Bareilles explained. "I wasn't the one having any problems with it."

Sara also says that she and Perry are pals and had no trouble laughing off the rip-off rumors while respecting each other's individual artistry.

"I've known Katy a long time. We are friends and she and I spoke about it," she insisted. "I look at it as two female artists who are releasing a message of empowerment."

"We actually talked about it," she added of the pair's non-existent feud. "We're like, 'Should we just work on a mash-up and let everybody know we're not mad at each other?'"

Not a bad idea.

Despite her positive attitude, Bareilles admitted she was frustrated with her fans who only added fuel to the internet fire.

"To be totally honest, I was sort of disappointed in how aggressive fans were being about it," she revealed. "I don't promote drama in my life and competition and stuff like that."

This isn't the first time Perry has found herself at the centered of a rumored feud stemming from her music. In August, she insisted to E! News that she and Lady Gaga have nothing but love for each other after fans claimed the singers were feuding when their singles were released on the same day.

"I don't have beef with her at all," Perry revealed at the MTV Video Music Awards. "Actually, I met Gaga in the very beginning, and we've both kind of come up at the same time and I like both the Monsters and the Katy Cats, and I like the Monster Cats too."

Glad that's all settled.

Now, let's get to work on that Bareilles-Perry mash-up!
