Way to show support for your co-star!
Penn Badgley endorsed his Cymbeline co-star Dakota Johnson being cast as the lead role of Anastasia Steele, opposite Charlie Hunnam, in Fifty Shades of Grey.
The 26-year-old actor caught up with E! News at the Esquire Network Launch in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and was quick to confess his confidence in the 23-year-old actress.
"I haven't read the books," Badgley admitted. "Dakota is wonderful. I have known her for years and we're doing a movie right now."
When Badgley was given a brief explanation that the erotic trilogy is about an "innocent wide-eyed girl that gets taken sexually advantage of," Badgley did not miss a beat with his response.
"Can I say she is perfect for that?" he said after laughing. "I don't know if that's appropriate to say."
Well, maybe not, but Badgley took it one step further.
"I'm sure she's gonna nail it, no pun intended."

The duo were snapped on the set of the set of their movie Cymbeline in NYC passionately kissing on Monday, Sept. 9. In this modern take on William Shakespeare's play, Badgley and Johnson play husband and wife.
