If Willie Robertson had listened to his dad, Duck Dynasty might've never become what it is today!

"We just got an email out of the blue that said, 'Hey, I think you guys may have a big show," Willie explained to Jimmy Fallon on Late Night.  "I said, 'Dad, we could do a big show on a network.'"

But Phil Robertson said, "Nah," to the concept, telling Willie, "That won't work."

It did, as we all know, something Willie laughingly says he "[reminds] him of that every week!"

To be fair though, the hit A&E reality show is really all about Uncle Si Robertson—if you ask him, that is. "I'm the most important part of this whole thing," he said.

Uncle Si is does fashion the reeds put into every duck call! And if those calls didn't work, well, there'd be no business, and there'd certainly be no hit show!

There also wouldn't be a Christmas album coming out next month. Duck the Halls is set for an Oct. 29 release, and as Willie told Jimmy, "When you hear it, it's gonna blow your pants off."

Party foul!

(E! and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
