Um, Penn Badgley is hot, but he is not Christian Grey.
But there's no need to send Dakota Johnson to the Red Room of Pain just yet. On Monday, Sept. 9, the 23-year-old Fifty Shades of Grey lead was passionately making out with Mr. Badgley (and wearing a very un-Anastasia Steele brown wig) on the set of another movie, Cymbeline, in NYC.
In this modern take on William Shakespeare's play, Dakota plays the wife of Penn's character. But in Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota's leading man—Mr. Christian Grey—will be played by the also very handsome Charlie Hunnam.
And while Dakota's in town to film Cymbeline, she still made time for Fifty Shades of Grey hangout sesh with author E.L. James and the film's producer Dana Brunetti. E.L. tweeted a picture of the trio's meeting this past weekend, calling Dakota "beautiful, talented [and] funny as feck."
Not everyone was immediately pleased with the casting of Christian and Ana, but, as the producer tweeted, "There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc… So if your favorite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective."
Don't hate—dominate! Or, OK, submit to the fact that Charlie and Dakota have some fiery onscreen chemistry.
