Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" music video may be shattering VEVO records, but it's also raising some eyebrows among her peers in Young Hollywood. Released on Monday, Sept. 9, the Terry Richardson-directed clip shows a completely naked Cyrus swinging on a wrecking ball—as well as licking a sledgehammer and caressing her scantily-clad body while lying atop a pile of rubble.
90210's Shenae Gimes shared her reaction to Cyrus' latest effort via Twitter on Tuesday, Sept. 10. "WTF is up with Miley's new music video?" the actress asked. She added, "I mean, I don't know the girl but if I did I'd demand she bath twice, put some clothes on and give her a big hug...looks like she needs it."
Grimes' husband, musician and model Josh Beech, was considerably harsher in his review of "Wrecking Ball." Via the Two Halves blog he shares with his better half, Beech wrote, "Miley doesn't leave much to the imagination in new video…Sledge hammer licking, naked on a wrecking ball and what seems to be a camel toe…. Pretty much sums up most 20 somethings saturday nights out doesn't it!!!!!!??????? "
Beech continued, "Miley's got a new video and to be honest I like the song. The video is maybe a bit unnecessary considering her fans are aged between 10 and 12 but whatever floats your boat i guess." He also referred to "Wrecking Ball" as the former Hannah Montana star's "new porno" via his Twitter account.
Cyrus, it seems, has been too busy celebrating her success to pay attention to her critics. "DONT STOP WATCHING WRECKING BALL WE HAVE 9 Hours More we can get the Views Higher!" she told her Twitter followers on Tuesday, Sept. 10. "#WreckedTheRecord."
