Sons of Anarchy

Don't expect to see any of the Sons of Anarchy cast's names on the Fifty Shades of Grey petition!

The show's star Charlie Hunnam has become the most buzzed-about actor in Hollywood after landing the role of Christian Grey in the big screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic love story opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. And though some fans have started a campaign to have the roles recast (Um, have you seen his abs, people!), Hunnam has the complete support of the club as his costars were quick to gush over his high-profile new role when we caught up with them on  the red carpet at Sons of Anarchy's season six premiere party.

"We're very happy for Charlie. If Charlie's happy, we're happy," Hunnam's onscreen mother Katey Sagal says. "We love Charlie. He'll be great." Sagal's husband Kurt Sutter, the creator of the gritty FX drama, adds, "He's a movie star. We've known that for a while."

Equally as confident in Hunnam's ability to take on the risky role? Maggie Siff, who plays his wife on the series.

"Charlie's the man for the job," Siff tells E! News. "He's really not afraid of taking on big challenges. I really think he's going to step that movie up. It's going to be exciting."

Kim Coates, who plays Hunnam's character Jax's adversary/club member Tig, adds, "I'm proud of him. I really am proud of him. He's an amazing actor. I'll be there at the premiere. I can't wait to see his work." However, there is one aspect of the film Coates isn't looking forward to. " I don't want to see him naked and everyone else does, so that's fine!" he says.

To hear what Jimmy Smits and Ron Perlman think of Hunnam's "kinky" new role, watch our interviews with the cast above!
