It was a very special day for Patrick Stewart.
The actor tied the knot to singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell earlier today, while his good friend and X-Men costar Ian McKellen officiated the wedding ceremony
"Sir Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell were married on Saturday afternoon, September 7, beside Lake Tahoe in front of approximately 100 guests, including family and friends," Stewart's rep tells E! News. "The bride wore a white French lace dress by English designer Temperley London."
The British star also happily shared the news on Twitter.
"Yes, married," Stewart tweeted with a sweet photo of him and his beautiful bride enjoying their first moments as newlyweds by having some fun in a giant colorful ball pit.
McKellen also shared news of the ceremony on Facebook, posting a photo of him showing off his "Doctor of Divinity" certificate and a black shirt that says "Minister." He wrote with the photo, "I did my part."
"I'm going to marry Patrick," McKellen announced while on the Jonathan Ross Show in March. "I am going to officiate at his wedding."
When pressed about whether he had the right qualifications for the job, he said, "In Massachusetts—we're in the middle of America somewhere—you get anybody along, a friend, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I declare you man and wife."
Stewart and Ozell have been together for five years after meeting at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2008.
Here's a toast to a life full of happiness and Masterclass YouTube videos together.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
