R&B singer Monica and her husband, Phoenix Suns' player Shannon Brown, welcomed their first child together.
The proud papa tweeted a photo from his Instagram account on Friday cradling his new daughter with the caption, "I THANK GOD for her!!! JOY has been restored in my LIFE!!!" The photo also has a sweet message, "Daddys Girl 'Laiyah'."
The bundle of joy is wrapped in a leopard blanket and wearing a little hat.
Laiyah Shannon was born on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Atlanta, according to People. She was born at 1:55pm and weighed in at 6 lbs., 1 oz. and measuring 19 inches long.
Monica's sons from a previous relationship, Rodney, 8, and Romelo, 5, were present to help welcome their baby sister. Monica had a natural birth.
The 32-year-old singer announced that she was expecting with a photo of her baby bump in May.
The Grammy winner and the NBA star first met in June 2010 while shooting the music video for her song "Love All Over Me" and married in secret six months later.
