Lindsay Lohan isn't a flake after all.

After rumors surfaced that the rehabbed actress had bailed on promoting her most recent flick The Canyons at the Venice Film Festival, the star felt the need to clarify.

Director Paul Schrader joked to the media he was glad the troubled star was a no show after revealing: "For the last 16 months I've been held hostage, by my own choosing, to a very talented but unpredictable actress." Adding, "She was supposed to be here today. She said she would be, but she is not."

However, Lindsay has a different story to tell.

The actress, who finished yet another stint in rehab in July, posted to her official website that she "was never confirmed to attend" the festival.

Lindsay wrote: "Along with the positive messages and words of support of "The Canyons" at VFF, I am sending my own to the cast, producers and the amazing Paul Schrader. I am so grateful for the extraordinary experience of being a part of this film. Unfortunately, I have to clear up these reports. I was never confirmed to attend. Of course, I would have enjoyed returning to that wonderful city and being a part of this amazing event, but my focus is on my health and well-being. Plain and simple, it is of the utmost importance."

Hmm, looks like Lindsay may be a changed woman after all!
