It's only been five weeks since Kate Middleton gave birth to Prince George, but the duchess is already back to fulfilling her royal duties!

On Friday, Aug. 30, the new mum will make her first official public appearance since welcoming the royal baby, accompanying Prince William at the start of the Ring O'Fire Anglesey Coastal Ultra Marathon. Although William was expected to meet with participant and volunteers and help kick off the event, Kate's appearance comes as a surprise.

Originally, Kate's first official post-baby appearance slated to be at the inaugural Tusk Conservation Awards on Sept. 12., where she and William will be the guests of honor.

As for Prince George?  Well, we'll get to see more official photos of the future king from his christening sometime this fall, but an actual meet and greet with the tot isn't on the books just yet.

Not to worry, though—he has plenty of time for that!
