Welcoming a new member to the household can be tough on a pet.

Which is why Fergie and Josh Duhamel have called on the Dog Whisperer himself, Cesar Millan, to help their female daschund named Zoe prepare for the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman's pending birth of the couple's first child.

"@joshduhamel & I getting our doggie daughter ready for her new brother with @cesarmillan," Fergie tweeted on Tuesday along with an Instagram pic of the foursome.

Her Transformers hubby subsequently added: "Curious how your pets reacted when you brought home your first newborn child. Any advice?"

Well, it certainly helps to have TV's foremost expert on dog training drop by the house to share all there is to know about the subject.

Millan later offered some tips on his website. Among them: establish yourself as the pack leader; be aware of your energy, carry an item with your baby's scent to create respect for the baby with your pooch, and establishing boundaries around the nursery.

Duhamel and Fergie announced the pregnancy back in February and the actor revealed during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael last month that the dog-loving duo is expecting a boy. It will be their first child.

Last week, the 40-year-old Duhamel showed off the 38-year-old songstress bulging baby bump as they walked the red carpet at the premiere of his new movie, Scenic Route. And a few days before that, Fergie posted an Instagram pic of her from her baby shower with the caption, "earth mommy."
