Sometimes the TV gods are cruel and unusual (R.I.P. Happy Endings), and other times they bring wonderful gifts down (up?) to us.

The latest gift hopefully coming our way is the report that the queens of comedy, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, have been asked to return as hosts for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards.

Deadline is reporting that despite the fact that Poehler and Fey agreed to only a one-time hosting gig, producers are hoping for a repeat of the performance that brought in almost 20 million viewers. The ratings were a 17 percent increase from the year before, when Ricky Gervais hosted.

While there apparently hasn't been any formal invitations extended to Fey and Poehler, NBC is currently gauging their interest. Hopefully the ladies say yes to a comeback, because we need more moments like the one below:

Fey's rep tells us about the reports: "I have no information to share." Reps for both Poehler and the Golden Globes have not responded to our request for comments.

Do you want to see Amy and Tina back as Golden Globe hosts?
