Miss Philippines USA Contestant's Cringe-Worthy Q&A Response Must Be Seen to Be Believed

Joanlia Lising was thrown for a loop when she was asked a question about the five senses

If only they had just asked about world peace.

We've come to expect one thing from beauty pageants: That a contestant will inevitably fumble the Q&A portion of the night and gift us with a cringe-worthy, incoherent video that will instantly go viral.

There was Miss South Carolina and maps (people don't have ‘em! And "South Africa and the Iraq, everywhere like, such as" something or another). Miss Utah the economy ("We need to try to figure out how to create education better"). Miss Venezuela and the legal system (honestly, we have no idea).

Now, there's Miss Philippines USA 2013 contestant Joanlia Lising.

During the pageant, Lising was asked, "Among the five senses, what do you prefer to have if you could only have one? And why?"

Lising responded, "Thank you for that wonderful question."

From there it's all downhill

If you are unable to watch the video, either due to technical limitations or you are worried the secondhand embarrassment may cause you to literally self-combust, here is the rest of her answer:

"If I have to pick out of five sense, I would pick seeing. Because seeing is the best sense that we can ever see, because seeing is believing. And believing into what you see is perfect. And, uh, out of all those senses, seeing...would...really...…be wonderful, because. Thank you. That will be it."

For the record, Lising was not crowned Miss Philippines USA (she also did not place in the top three or win Miss Tourism, Miss Congeniality or Miss Unity). But we think that, in the long run, everyone will see that she was the real star of that show.

And seeing is believing is perfect.
