Whether last night's performances made you get up and shake your groove thang—like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga—or sit back and wonder what the heck is going on, there were plenty of memorable highlights (both bad and good) from the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
But there were also some random moments that you may not have seen that are worth mentioning, like Rihanna making a mess or Harry Styles promoting a healthy diet.

RiRi, who opted to skip the red carpet, seemed to enjoy herself last night—well, for the most part. But when she felt the show died flat, the Barbados beauty created her own entertainment.
The singer was spotted spilling her popcorn all over her friend's lap (there are cameras everywhere, people) when trying to grab a handful to munch on. Thinking of a master plan, Rihanna decided to put all the spilled popcorn underneath the chair in front of her, and said, "Shh!"
Sneaky, sneaky.
If you watch the clip one more time, you'll notice that Styles, who sat right behind RiRi, was feeling a bit hungry during the show. Luckily, he went prepared.
The One Direction singer started peeling an orange that he pulled out from underneath him to snack on. He even offered some to his pals—whatta guy!
Meanwhile, it was revealed after the show that Lady Gaga is a woman that requires men to be chivalrous when in her presence. Either that, or she's allergic to car doors.
When leaving the venue, the pop singer (who did cover up when she went outside) was about to get into her vehicle, when she abruptly backed away and signaled for security to open the door for her.
Guess chivalry isn't dead, as long as you demand it.
